About The Play:
Mahesh Dattani's next play, is a story of two teenagers in love. Not the kind of love we associate with teenagers. Khudiram Bose and Thillayaadi Velliamai never met, but they were both connected by a common passion – a love for their motherland. The Play explores through these two forgotten characters the way we have come to honour our fallen heroes and how the present & future will create & celebrate heroes as well.
Beyond jingoism, and certainly beyond blind faith or parochialism, these brave young people took on an entire establishment, shaking the foundation of an unjust government. One chose the bomb, the other chose the power of self pride. Heroes who were present for us at the break of dawn, so that our days could be lived in dignity and peace . We need them now.

About the Director:
Dushyanth Gunashekar, Founder & Creative Head – has directed 3 plays and now with “Snapshots” it becomes 4, apart from having acted, produced and written as well for stage but primarily working with theatre in education. Crea-Shakthi was founded on the principle of making theatre a communion and that which must reach out to masses especially the young and Dushyanth has trained several youngsters to take up the craft seriously in 12 years and embrace its many benefits. “Snapshots” is a critical milestone in his theatre career of 12 years.
Founded in March 2012, Creashakthi started out as a ‘Fund’ by four partners whose passion for the craft prompted them to grow theatre in the city. In less than three years, Creashakthi has grown into nine partner strong firm, an institution that provides a platform for theatre, offering training and theatre-based learning solutions, curating arguably the largest youth theatre festival in the country, a well-established stand-up comedy wing and offering full-time employment to professionals. This is Creashakthi’s first full length monologue and having had it penned by the legendary Mahesh Dattani makes it a landmark production in its already illustrious cap of plays. Crea-Shakthi aims to turn itself into a community theatre group but by bridging the gap between professional and amateur and bring about industry standards for live performances in Chennai & other cities as well.
