It's time for the 2nd Annual South Texas Blues Festival Saturday March 17th 8pm in the Carlos Alvarez Theater. Tickets are $38.50 All Seats Reserved. Military Discounts are available. This year's event features Erin Jaimes, Gman Singleton, Claytie Bonds and Jimmie Dreams. If you had fun and enjoyed the 1st Annual Blues Festival, well this years event will be the best one yet.
Erin Jaimes: Blues firecracker Erin “Icewater” Jaimes has been dubbed one of “Texas promising female bluesicians” and voted #8 best bassist in Texas by the Austin Chronicle. With the release of her second CD, “Soul Garden”, the Chronicle stated that “Jaimes’ blues have bloomed”! During over a decade of playing and singing in the highly competitive blues scene, Erin has also toured regionally and internationally and been featured in a national advertising campaign for Net 10 Wireless. Erin's tough, soulful vocals front a scorching modern Texas blues band.
Jimmie Dreams: His first full sized guitar was purchased from a protege of the great Lightin' Hopkins. His longtime childhood teacher was SRV himself. Today his guitar playing is described as ingenious by Offbeat magazine and his talent has taken him nearly all around the world.
Claytie Bonds: Born in Corpus Christi Texas, Claytie is so versatile in range as she performs a wide genre of music and sounds similar to artists like Betty Wright,Millie Jackson, Annie Lennox, Aretha Franklin and Amy Winehouse. Her new release will impress you as she will continue to share the many sides of Claytie Bonds.
Gary Singleton: Better known as GMan among his loyal fans is a native of Baton Rouge Louisiana. His many influences were Blues Greats like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Sam Cooke among others. As a Indie Recording Artist with 3 albums, Gman has made a name for himself and his show is definitely worth the price of admission.
