SAN ANTONIO SYMPHONY EXTENDS CANCELLATIONS THROUGH END OF SEASON
Due to the mounting concern and caution around COVID-19 by City, County, and State Government officials and health professionals, the San Antonio Symphony announced today the cancellation of the remainder of its 2019-20 concert season and program activity. “As the rapidly-evolving novel coronavirus continues to impact our city and our world, these decisions are unfortunately almost being made for us,” said Corey Cowart, Executive Director of the San Antonio Symphony. “This is a heartbreaking decision for music lovers, our community, and our entire organization, but it’s the right thing to do.”
The Symphony believes in the power of music to bring people together, to create joy, to enrich hearts, minds, and lives, and to provide comfort when it is needed most. Symphony staff and the Symphony Society of San Antonio Board of Directors are committed to getting music back on the stage for the San Antonio community as soon as it is feasible.
If you are able to donate the value of your tickets back to the Symphony, please contact Jenna Jernigan at [email protected]. Symphony staff will also be calling all ticket holders to cancelled events in the coming days to help assist with questions or ticket needs. Your generosity is more important than ever and ensures the Symphony can triumphantly return to the stage and greater community.
