Broadway singers win over audience

If the way to get to New York’s Broadway, like nearby Carnegie Hall, is practice, practice, practice, then vocalists Christiane Noll and Doug LaBrecque arrived a long time ago. Noll and LaBrecque have performed their “Bravo Broadway!” show with pops orchestras everywhere about 500 times, they said during their appearance Friday night with the San Antonio Symphony Pops before about 1,200 people at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. They’ve done “Bravo” twice before in San Antonio, the last time in 2009, they said, of course with different music selections each time. So not only were the Broadway entertainers pitch perfect Friday night, they seemed to love their show as much as ever. Whether singing alone or in duets, Noll and LaBrecque had the energy, freshness and genuine enthusiasm as if singing their Broadway favorites for the first time.
