J. Bruce Bugg Jr., founding chairman of the Bexar County Performing Arts Center Foundation, has ended his run in that key role.

Sam Dawson, CEO of Pape-Dawson Engineers and a director of the foundation since 2012, was chosen as chairman-elect by its board of directors in 2015 and will now succeed Bugg.  Bugg, who was a co-founder of the Bexar County Performing Arts Center Foundation along with Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolf and former Mayor Phil Hardberger, has served as its chairman since 2007. In that role, he has overseen the design, construction and private fundraising for the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.
