San Antonio’s own legendary Vikki Carr will return to the beautiful Tobin Center for the Performing Arts for a special night, where she promises to sing her biggest hits and take a trip down memory lane. One of the most beloved singers in San Antonio and around the world, Carr will light up the stage in the H-E-B Performance Hall of the Tobin on Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. featuring Mariachi Aztlán Now living in San Antonio, Carr has become one of the most accomplished entertainers in the United States, Latin America and Europe having worked in radio, television, film and theatre. And at 74, Carr has no plans of slowing down. La Prensa recently visited the Texan singer in her home in San Antonio, where she talked about her upcoming performance, her music and her Mexican heritage.
“I’ve only just gotten started,” she said with a chuckle. “It’s been a remarkable career. I’ve met some of the most incredible performers in this business.”
