We invite you into the magical world of The Nutcracker, one of the most beloved and enduring ballets in the classical repertoire. We will trace its roots to E.T.A. Hoffmann's 1816 fairy tale, "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” and examine how the story's whimsical characters, enchanting settings, and underlying themes of imagination and transformation provided fertile ground for adaptation into a ballet.
Drinks and Dance Discovery Lectures are an exclusive benefit for Tobin Center Members and Signature Series Subscribers, provided to you free of charge. The series is also open to the public for $10 per session or $35 for all four. Each lecture is a standalone presentation, so join us for one or all!
