Carlos Alvarez is CEO of The Gambrinus Company, which owns and operates two independent craft breweries in the U.S.: the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, TX, and the Trumer Brewery in Berkeley, CA, brewer of Trumer Pils.

Mr. Alvarez has been a Director of Frost Bank, Inc. He is committed to education and has served on the board of trustees of Davidson College, School Year Abroad and Saint Mary’s Hall (San Antonio). He is also a member of the Chancellor’s Circle for the University of Texas system. Mr. Alvarez is a board member of the World Affairs Council of America (Washington, DC) and the World Affairs Council of San Antonio, which he previously served as chairman.
